A weekly roundup of the Republican Candidates

Newt Gingrich

Newt claims that despite claims to the contrary his presidential run is “not dead”. “You’re not fooling anyone, you know.”

Herman Cain
So on the one hand he comes across as not knowing much about foreign policy with his folksy “I don’t have all the information right now” excuse for not having a lot of opinions, and clearly not knowing what the Green Line is (which is a little sad given how it has been in the news this week) but on the other hand he seems to understand the general concepts of right and wrong in foreign policy.

Cain needs to hire some foreign policy experts, brush up on all the details, and take some position or he needs to drop out.

Ron Paul
While the Congressman probably agrees with Obama on how to deal with Israel, he still has yet to show me he knows the first thing about foreign policy.

Tim Pawlenty
I have to admire a man who will call for the end to ethanol subsidies, while in Iowa.

Of course he just wants to phase them out instead of just killing them. Still, Pawlenty has yet to really impress me.

Mitt Romney
Otherwise known as the moderate who thinks he’s a Republican. Pardon me if I’m not thrilled with those options.

Rick Santorum
I love how his response to being called a homophobe is to attack the media and not even offer a half hearted denial. Guess he must not be a very good liar. Which means I would love to play poker with him…oh and I would hate to have him in the White House.

Sarah Palin
Has bought a house in Arizona and is supposedly looking into taking John Kyle’s seat. This is good news in that it means she’s not running for President. Praise the Lord! This is bad news that now this hypocrite is living only a few miles from me.

John Bolton
I like him. But I don’t think he’s serious about running. If he does it will only be to make a point.

Michele Bachman
Like Giuliani she’s keeping quiet for the moment. But the more savvy political watchers see her as a force for this election. Giuliani/Bachman? That would be nice.
