The U.S. Army vs OWS Protesters

crisap:

Let me repeat the best line in this reposted blog “each soldier is worth about 100 of the OWS protesters.” Probably more. A lot more.

Originally posted on International Liberty:

Even though I expressed some support for the Occupy protesters the other day, I strongly reject their entitlement mindset.

So you can imagine how I found this image both humorous and accurate. Maybe I’m biased because a lot of my softball buddies are in the military or former military, but each soldier is worth about 100 of the OWS protesters.

If you like this type of humor, scroll down on this post.

  1. the ows protesters are people that have NO options left or those that are fighting for ones that have NO options left. the military is just a money making machine, thats all. what do you have to say to all of the jobs being moved overseas? there are people that have worked and devoted their entire lives to one company only to have that company pick up and move their jobs overseas. this country consumes everything but produces nothing and that is not a balanced economy. drug companies that charge my mother 7,000 $ for a single prescription to fight her leukemia. or the government that taxed my father so much that he had to stop cutting timber and start working for the rich in the coal mines. my father is a true conservative because he wants to conserve the way of life for everyone not just himself like you people. i’m a proud liberal, new age conservatives make me sick because they have no concern for anyone else, they just want to conserve their way of life and screw everyone else. how do you explain million and billion dollar corporations AND BANKS that take life insurance policies out on there own employees without their or their families knowledge? a mother of three pays out the ass for medical bills for the husband and father that family lost while the company he worked for gets tens of thousands of dollars for the same man… or wal-mart that puts mom and pop stores out of business and forces the same people to go to work for them.. conservatives only want one thing and that is to watch their own asses. and another issues is same-sex marriage. what is so wrong with two people that love each other getting married. what if there was a law not allowing straight people to get divorced or not allowing them to get remarried. that would sure put a damper on your parade wouldn’t it?

    • The people at OWS are whiners and nothing else.

Your position on the people who put their lives at risk so that others may be free, speaks volumes about your character.

What do I have to say about jobs going over seas? Good! Growth in the economy is always good and growth in the third world not only helps the third world but it helps us too. I also have to say that your understanding of economics, as suggested by that statement is woefully populist and ignorant. (May I suggest you read “In Defense of Globalization” by Jagdish Bhagwati)

To the people who have “devoted their lives to a company” maybe they should have devoted their lives to themselves and kept up their education so that they would be in a position to get another job if that one fell, only a fool leaves themselves with no options and at the mercy of someone else. “this country consumes everything but produces nothing and that is not a balanced economy.” No it’s not a balanced economy…but not for the reasons you think, you’re stuck in some 1950’s ideal where manufacturing is the only thing that counts as production…we produce lots of things in this country, ideas and innovation being the best part of it.

Well there are a myriad of reason for the costs and problems that have affected your family (and I appreciate that you made this a personal argument rather than a detached analysis, because that’s where the best depth in thought comes from)…but as to the costs of drugs and the timber industry slowing down, I would look to government over regulation and cronyism to blame before blaming capitalism. Thank you for redefining the word “conservative” and the phrase “new age” into a way that I, nor any sane person, has ever used them. It really furthers the argument.

Your insurance question just perplexes me, as I see nothing wrong. If they took out the insurance policy and paid the premiums, why won’t they be entitled to the benefits?

Walmart and other chains, god bless them, offer lower prices and greater selection to their customers, and better wages, more flexibility and greater opportunity for advancement to their employees. How terrible of them. (http://conservativenewager.wordpress.com/2011/07/12/why-buy-local-is-a-silly-idea-in-practice/)

“conservatives only want one thing and that is to watch their own asses” Actually that would be called human beings. All human beings are motivated by self interest, and the only question is whether that self interest is based on rational long term plans and supported by a legal framework that encourages long term thinking (which we don’t have) or motivated by the knee jerk me me me me mentality that OWS champions (http://conservativenewager.wordpress.com/2010/09/10/a-series-of-unfortunate-blogs-part-iii-what-caused-our-current-problems-hint-it-wasnt-capitalism/)

“and another issues is same-sex marriage. what is so wrong with two people that love each other getting married. what if there was a law not allowing straight people to get divorced or not allowing them to get remarried. that would sure put a damper on your parade wouldn’t it?” Wow, you really didn’t bother to do any reading did you? Not only are you commenting on a blog I reposted (which I always love, as you didn’t have the guts to confront the person who originally wrote the blog) but you assume because I use the word “conservative” I must be some throwback Neandethal who only lives to kill me gays and outlaw me some abortion. (The big yin/yang sign over to the left hand side with the picture of the Hindu god Ganesh, and the word Reincarnation really didn’t click something for you there? Or do you not know what any of this means? Because from what you’ve written it appears you think I’m some kind of Rick Santorum supporting psycho fundamentalist Christian) Perhaps you would also like to read this and actually familiarize yourself with my opinion on gay marriage before you attack me…oh but what fun would that be? Right? After all, everything else you have here showed you’re not exactly knowledgeable in any of the field you wish to pontificate on.

But please, feel free to respond. I quite enjoyed your imitation of James Joyce’s stream of consciousness style writing.
